Over the past 30 years, I contributed and led transformations during 5 industry revolutions. This exposure trained me to identify “weak signals” that must be recognized early, and use these insights to define how to lead transformations that enable companies to transition to new approaches needed to thrive in the new context. Perceiving these weak signals requires an open mindset to avoid discarding information that may not fit one’s pre-conceived ideas and concepts, combined with listening skills and the background to assess, filter and retain relevant information that needs to form the basis of the new strategy.
While most people specialize in one job profile during their career, I had the opportunity to lead in various roles: technical expertise, engineering management and product management. This multi-disciplinary competence enables qualitative discussions with all product stakeholders, creating mutual trust and understanding, leading to efficient teamwork.
All above soft skills cannot be leveraged without a deep technical understanding. I was deeply involved in technical work involving embedded software, algorithms, hardware, silicon design and cloud development.
